DAME BARBARA
CARTLAND
Dame Barbara Cartland was one of the most prolific romance novelists of the 20th century, with titles such as ‘The Ghost who Fell in Love’ and ‘The Dangerous Dandy’.
Babs almost exclusively wore pink (Cartlandese Pink to be precise), and from 1.00pm to 3.30pm she would dictate one 7,000 word chapter to her secretary from the comfort of her chaise.
Apparently she wasn’t a fan of her wax figure at Madame Tussauds because she didn’t think it was pretty enough.
